Workbench material decision

When trying to redesign the look or feel of the kitchen, it can be difficult and time-consuming to select the perfect countertop. The wide variety of countertop materials can make it difficult to choose the right option for your lifestyle and space.

The ideal countertop for your kitchen should have a unique style, durability and should require little maintenance. Taking into account these three main elements, we will reduce the number of options for two of the main countertop materials, quartz and granite, both of which provide a wonderful solution and have the characteristics indicated.

When deciding which material to use for your kitchen countertop, there is no mistake if you choose quartz or granite.

These materials will not only provide dynamism to your home, but each of them also has its own advantages. As for maintenance, quartz countertops bring advantages that nature itself is not capable of, while granite requires more maintenance.

Neither quartz nor granite will disappoint in terms of style and overall appearance (smudge).

Quartz Countertops

Quartz countertops are made from natural quartz, one of the hardest minerals found on Earth, and small amounts of glass or metallic particles are added to generate variety, resulting in beautiful countertops.

Another advantage of quartz is that it is a non-porous material, its texture does not allow the growth of bacteria and is resistant to stains, protecting your family and facilitating the cleaning of the kitchen. For this reason, quartz countertops never need to be waterproofed.

In addition to the durability that quartz provides, this material is beautiful and the wide variety of color options will undoubtedly catch your eye. There are almost a multitude of options, as quartz varies from natural tones, such as white, black and brown, to other tones, such as gold or blue.

The design of a quartz countertop not only brings personality to your kitchen, but also offers performance advantages that surpass those of other traditional materials.

Granite Countertops

Another of the materials most commonly used in countertops is granite. Like quartz, this material is also very resistant. Granite is a natural rock that is cut in its natural state and then polished for use in homes. Maintenance is recommended after each use to prevent the formation of stains on the granite. To clean it and maintain the shine of the piece, use warm water and soap.

Such a strong material is difficult to scratch and is able to withstand changes in temperature. Because it is a natural stone, granite does not provide such a wide range of color options, and each piece is different; therefore, it is often necessary to plan the kitchen around the chosen piece. That said, it is not always simple to plan a kitchen around a granite countertop.
